Way of WisdomWhen it comes to the subject of God's will, I find rampant misunderstanding and confusion among Christians. I hear the desperation in people's questions: Can I ever be sure about what God wants me to do? What if I discover I've been doing something other than His will? If I somehow stepped out of God's will at some point, can I ever get back on track, or is my case hopeless? This last question is almost double-decker despair-since I feel like I've already missed God's will in the past, does He have a "plan B" will for my future? If these are questions you never think about, then I would conclude you are living in willful ignorance. And if you want to stay that way, don't read this book! If you are sure God has a will and are wondering whether a book on God's will can help you, let me assure you it can. This is especially true if you are like countless people I meet who try to live under the traditional view of God's will. If your understanding of God's will makes you nervous, frustrated, and discouraged, take a deep breath because you are about to discover that the traditional view of God's will has a major flaw-it's not biblical. If this is the case, then the problems you are having with God's will may be about your understanding and application of God's will, not God's will itself. Now that's a wise reason to read this book! |
