And I'm Proud to Be an American . . .

Well, it's finally happened. I took the plunge, I stepped over to the other side, I burned the bridge, I'm an American. It all happened last Friday morning at a special ceremony with about 200 others from countries around the world. Like most major moments in our lives, this one was filled with a lot of emotion. Can I just share some of my feelings? Will you listen? I have to get this off my chest.

Getting Fingerprinted or De-Cannucked (Part 1)

Kathy and I moved to the states in 1986 to go to seminary, almost 21 years ago now. When we came, everything seemed strange and new; now it seems old and familiar. Throughout these two decades we have remained proud of our Canadian heritage and often returned to Canada to do ministry or to see family. While we continue to feel that way, we have made the decision to become American citizens and here's why:

It's a Joke

Wow! I just got back in town, and I have had a blast reading all your comments. We are gonna have a lot of fun with the Christians who don't have a lot of fun. Serious is great, but cheerless and humorless is not so great. I just can't get over the 'preachy' Christians who wrote a whole sermon about my 'stupid' blog. It's a joke, people, a joke! Come here, let me give you a little tickle under the chin . . . that's right, it's ok, smile--really it's not such a bad thing that we help each other lighten up a bit. I know I need it. :) Are you OK?
